Domain

The Domain: This domain was purchased on the thirteenth of March, 2004. From Hosting Shop, the only Australian company that hosted that we could find. I'm on the "cPanel, junior". I get 100MBs space, 2GB bandwidth (bandwidth refreshed each month) and unlimited sub-domains. (along with all that POP email and ftp, frontpage, cgi, etc) for $125 a year, Aus dollars. I think that's alright, It's my first domain, and first host I've been with so, it seems pretty good at the moment. (Plus my parents pay.. if im good).

Story: My website, Angels Never Fall had been up for a year and a bit before I considered getting a domain, though I didn't think my sites were good enough to be given that kind of importance. But, at the beggining of 2004, I decided i'd ask my parents anyways. So, using the excuse of a christmas present (for i hadn't yet gotten the PS2 game they were going to get me) I asked, and after a bit of persuading, I got them considering. Gosh, it took three months! I got the domain in March, and it took ages because Dad insisted on going with an Australian company, incase anything backfired. Which was alright I suppose, just by now i was very much the impatient one. The important thing I guess here, was that I got it!!

Name: The name of my first site, Angels Never Fall, was taken from the silver ring I'd gotten and I wear everywhere. The inscription in it says: "Angels Never Fall" and the phrase - if you will, just came to mind when one of my friends, whos parents run a jeweler, said I could get a silver ring for a discount price, and an engraving would be free. Heh, well, that's the story behind ANF, but what about Icy-Blue? I wanted a colour in it, and that was either gonna be blue, or grey or black. Then, with how my moods and feeling changed at the time, I felt like something cold. And Icy-Blue was the result. I quite like it, and the [dot]net extension was chosen over com and org, as these were either common, or sounded.. strange. [Dot]net sounded much better to my ears, and well, there ya go.
